Dougherty is a meteorologist who is a Wampum, Lawrence County native and has worked for other stations prior to joining WTAE. Her career began when in 2008 working for WTRF in Wheeling, West Virginia where she served as an editor and weekend meteorologist. She then moved to KDKA-TV as a freelance meteorologist after nearly two years with the Virginia-based television station. She worked for two years with the Pittsburgh-based TV station prior to joining WTAE-TV
